#CiTiO

Memory

CiTiO emerged as a nimble response to the bureaucratic hurdles encountered during the pandemic when managing new construction permits in Buenos Aires. Conceived as an experiment in flexible, multi-use space, CiTiO blends a compact, semi-covered interior dining area with lush vegetation and a generous public realm expansion.

Situated on an atypical urban plot with dual street access, each exhibiting distinct rhythms yet shared characteristics, the project features four freestanding rectangular volumes. These volumes, deliberately detached from the property lines, create an unconventional urban pathway.

Within these prismatic structures, diverse culinary experiences unfold, unified by a cohesive interior-exterior aesthetic under a singular spatial framework.

Each volume's facade and interior configuration are unique, with the interior acting as a brand interface, adapting materials and layouts to individual tenant needs. Linear bar counters along the perimeter foster a sense of community between vendors and patrons.

The street-facing exterior features a substantial linear expansion with a built-in bench and integrated greenery, acting as an acoustic buffer against the busy thoroughfare, thus establishing an intimate rhythm akin to the interior spaces.

Interior Design

While each unit adheres to the project's overarching morphological concept, individual material palettes are tailored to each brand, developed in collaboration with our studio.

The spaces are designed as frontal-facing, hollowed-out boxes, featuring a solid-looking service counter that separates the service and dining areas, complemented by a light, front-facing bar counter with integrated seating.

The interior sides of each volume are clad in "box-like" enclosures, culminating in a backrest that abuts the volume's rear vertical plane.

CiTiO demonstrates architecture's capacity to provide adaptable solutions for temporary uses.
